Cherry Capital Airport (TVC) is the closest airport to our venue (727 Fly Don't Dr, Traverse City, MI 49686) and is small and easy to navigate. Typical taxi or rideshare to downtown Traverse City takes about 10–15 minutes; rental cars are available on-site and we recommend renting a car for the most flexibility while in the area.

There is so much to do while you’re here for our wedding on August 29, 2026. Traverse City was recently voted <a href="https://www.midwestliving.com/best-restaurants-in-traverse-city-michigan-11915560" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Best of the Midwest Awards 2026 Food City of the Year</a> and has a great food scene. Also enjoy a stroll along the Boardman River, visit local wineries on the Old Mission and Leelanau Peninsulas (Mawby is our favorite!), explore the shops and cafes in downtown Traverse City, or relax on nearby sandy beaches like Clinch Park. There is a fantastic farmer's market on Saturdays from 7:30 AM-12 PM. If you have extra time, consider a scenic drive or a short hike. Sleeping Bear Dunes is a tough hike, but the views are absolutely STUNNING.

A breathtaking viewpoint and rewarding hike about 30–40 minutes from Traverse City; expect sweeping lake views, sandy dunes, and well-marked trails. Bring water, good shoes, and arrive early on busy summer days.

A lively outdoor farmers market in downtown Traverse City featuring local produce, baked goods, artisan goods, and food vendors; Wednesdays 8:00 AM–12:00 PM and Saturdays 7:30 AM–12:00 PM (June–October).

A charming winery on Old Mission Peninsula known for its sparkling wines and picturesque tasting room; about 20–30 minutes from Traverse City. Jacob took Chelsie here after the proposal!

A lively adult arcade in downtown Traverse City featuring classic and modern coin-op games, craft drinks, and a social atmosphere; live music on weekend nights.

Think polished but comfortable for an outdoor late‑summer celebration in Traverse City. For women: cocktail dresses, midi skirts, or dressy jumpsuits with low to mid heels or dressy flats suitable for grass and gravel. For men: lightweight suits or dress trousers with a blazer; tie optional. Because the wedding is on August 29, plan for warm daytime temperatures and a cooler evening layer. If you have accessibility or comfort needs, dress in whatever helps you feel your best—we’re just excited to celebrate with you.
